THE FLAG OF MEXICO
 


The flag of Mexico has three vertical stripes:  green represents hope, white represents unity or peace and red represents the blood of the national heroes. It also has an eagle perched on a cactus devouring a snake in the middle. The national emblem of Mexico is based on the Aztec legend, tells how his people wandered for centuries in the Mexican territory looking for the signal indicated by their gods to found the city of Tenochtitlan. The flag has changed thirteen times through its history. Flag day in Mexico is on 24th February. The most important dates in Mexico are: Independence day in Mexico is on 16th September and Mexican Revolution Day is on 20th November.
